Egypt Strengthens Tourism Cooperation with Turkey to Boost Incoming Travel
During his official visit to Istanbul to participate in the EMITT International Tourism Exhibition, Sherif Fathy, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, held a series of high-level professional meetings with leading Turkish tour operators and tourism companies specializing in Egypt Tours and tailor-made travel programs to Egypt. These meetings aimed to enhance cooperation and increase tourist arrivals from the Turkish market to Egypt.
The discussions reviewed the strong
performance of the Turkish tourism market in 2025, with the Minister highlighting
a 43% increase in Turkish tourist arrivals to Egypt compared to 2024. He
emphasized that this positive growth trend is expected to continue throughout
the current year, reflecting Egypt’s growing appeal as a top international
destination for Egypt
Travel Packages, especially during peak travel seasons.
Both sides explored practical ways to further boost inbound tourism from Turkey, including addressing operational challenges and strengthening collaboration between tour operators, airlines, and the Egyptian tourism authorities. Minister Fathy stressed the importance of promoting bilateral tourism between Egypt and Turkey, noting that increased travel flows help sustain regular flight operations and support demand for seasonal programs such as Egypt Easter Tours.
A key topic of discussion was the potential
organization of familiarization trips for Turkish bloggers, content creators,
and social media influencers, allowing them to experience Egypt’s diverse
tourism offerings firsthand. These initiatives support the promotion of
thematic itineraries such as Cairo
and the Nile Easter Tours 8 Days 7 Nights and immersive desert and
cultural experiences like the Cairo and White Desert Easter Tour.
Turkish tour operators confirmed that Egypt
ranked as the number one travel destination for Turkish tourists in 2025,
with rising demand expected to continue. Popular destinations include Sharm
El Sheikh and Hurghada for beach tourism, as well as 4
Days Cairo Short Break During Easter for cultural exploration, driving
strong interest in programs like the Cairo
and Sharm El Sheikh Easter Tours 7 Days 6 Nights.
The meetings also highlighted ongoing
cooperation with the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, including
joint marketing campaigns designed to showcase Egypt’s unique tourism
products—ranging from beach and cultural tourism to religious, spiritual, and
Nile cruise experiences. These efforts directly support demand for itineraries
such as the Cairo,
Nile Cruise, and Sharm El Sheikh Easter Tour.
Minister Fathy noted that Egypt welcomed 19
million tourists in 2025, marking an increase of over 20% compared to
2024, with continued growth into the current year. Visits to museums and
archaeological sites also rose significantly, reinforcing interest in extended
cultural journeys like the Cairo
and Alexandria Tour During Easter.
Egypt’s tourism strategy now focuses on integrated
and multi-destination travel experiences, combining beach holidays with
cultural tours, spiritual tourism with Nile cruises, and desert exploration.
Programs such as the 12
Days Cairo, The Nile and Hurghada During Easter reflect this evolving
approach, offering travelers deeper and more diverse experiences beyond
traditional tourism models.
